This Month In The Village!

Come along in! Welcome, and many kind greetings to you visitor. The Village is the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transexual district of Fortunecity. As this is the first issue of our revamped, redesigned Times, we thought it would be nice if we introduced our newer volunteers:

Jena a.k.a. Flamibigurl, Diva Drive/Oscar Wilde Way/Priscilla St. NG

Ummmm hi..I am Jena. I am a Neighborhood Guide here at the Village. I guess they want me to say a few words. I am not really sure what to say. I have not been in this suit very long, but hopefully I am doing a good job. I like being somewhat involved in things. I have made a lot of incredible friends here at the Village, and plan on being around for a long time.

Just remember kiddies, I am always around if you need me, look for me on the board, or send me an email, and maybe someday I will tackle this HTML monster, and be able to help out my fellow Villager. Take Care everyone and remember: "Do not try, do or do not, there is no try."

Tiagoviado, Carnival Crescent NG

Hello all! I am Tiagoviado (which means Tiago the Fag in Portuguese), and I am the brand new NG here in the village. Look on the boards for the handsome Pink Panther, and you will find me. I am making it my mission to get all of you shy international types out and participating more in our fair village. I want you to feel as welcome as I was when I arrived. I've seen your sites, and you have a lot to offer. We want to hear from you - in any language...we have a diverse community and have ways of communicating. Now, there is a special line forming in the rear for tall, Brazilian boys....

So what the heck IS an NG anyway?

NGs, or Neighborhood Guides, are the basic building blocks of FC Volunteers. What do Neighborhood Guides do? Basically they help maintain the community, welcoming new citizens, helping out people with their homes and FC and answer emails for complaints. In the Village, the most important duties of an NG are scanning for illegal sites on their street(s) and patronizing the boards, most importantly of course, the Village Board.

Where to apply to be an NG? Glad you asked. The Village always needs extra hands. All we ask for out of our NGs are: that they be online on a regular basis, that they are good at communicating and have much time to spare for volunteering. We prefer, but this is not a total requirement, that our NG applicants know at least basic HTML, and that they have a site in the Village. However, we are not against an extra hand, and if you are truly willing to volunteer here and enthusiastic about it, we will not stop you on the grounds of you not being a Villager par se.

When applying, please state your name or nick, your website address in Fortunecity, a basic bio, a little dash of your personality is nice and how much spare time you have to spare to help out. Please send all applications to Darklight.

Oh, and before we forget anyone...

It's time we introduced the rest of the bunch here at the Village. :o)

And now the other NGs you haven't met (again, alphabetically, so don't come after me if your name's at the bottom for some reason)...

Ali: Wong Foo NG

Fastcat: Birdcage Walk NG

This is for everyone out there who wants to add something to the This Month In the Village page. If you have something you'd like to add, an event on your site, etc. please do email me (that would be Darklight) at darklights@freedom.usa.com State in the heading "Village Times", please do keep those announcements under 300 words. We like to keep an open mind here but please, no ads for porn, warez or the like.
