Most estimates place the number of Elvis organizations at about 500! Therefore it isn't any surprise that there's an abundance of web sites dedicated to the memory and canonization of Elvis. They are, for the most part, international, witty, devotional and entertaining. They are epitomized by the "It's Only Love for Elvis Fan Club" site. These sites offer personal details about the effect of his persona and music on their lives and even an occasional memory of their contact with the King. Be prepared for any and everything here.
It's Only Love for Elvis: This fan club offers a wealth of well orchestrated detail that is not self serving or pompous.
The First Russian Elvis Site: For all those traveling to Russia and need to acquire stuff on Elvis, be sure to visit this site. For audio, videos, books and other memorabilia on Elvis, this site recommends specific places in Moscow to visit. The English is a little rough, but not as rough as the KGB (or so I've been told.)
The Official Elvis Presley Fan Club Of Victoria: "Established in 1963, Australia's Oldest continuous Fan Club". They produce Accent on Elvis, a newsletter quarterly.
Die EPG (Elvis-Presley-Gesellschaft: The largest Elvis fan club in Germany and the second largest in the world!
NOTE: No English-language version of this site; in German only.
PELvis--Princeton for Elvis: an organization run by university students at Princeton. They are "dedicated to spreading the magic of the King." This page contains some public-service-oriented links including "information about drugs and alcohol-- some of Elvis's favorite pastimes."
Elvis Chile: The offical Elvis fan club of Chile-- according to the link from the offical Elvis fan club of the Netherlands! It just goes to show you that Elvis fandom is truly an international effort that transcends all boundaries and continents.
Taking Care of Elvis Fan Club: "Officiell svensk Elvis Presley Fan Club" [Sweden's official Elvis fan club].
Flaming Star: the official Norwegian fan club.
The Official Elvis Presley Fan Club of Denmark: Mentions major events, such as Denmark's Elvis Presley Convention `99 [frames]
OEPFCF: The Official Elvis Presley Fan Club of Finland, founded in 1985.
Each of these four sites has an English-language version for the Nordically-impaired.
We almost can't describe the diversity of groups that honor and remember Elvis in one whimsical way or another. (Is "downright odd" too judgmental?) We say these sites represent the human spirit's creativity and imagination at their best. You may come to the conclusion that too many people out there have too much time on their hands.
The First Presleyterian Church of Elvis The Divine. Their home page cautions us: "WARNING: Viewing This Website May Get You All Shook UP!"
Americans for Cloning Elvis (ACE). Hey, we're not going to even try to explain this one. The title of this organization says it all. Be scared... be very, very scared.
This next organization is a webring called the TCB Ring. [For those of you who are Elvis-impaired: "TCB" means Takin' Care of Business".] This webring will take you to the pages of some truly devoted fans of The King.
The Elvis Fan Club of the Greater San Francisco Area We didn't know which page to list this group on because they go by the more distinctive name of Elvisians From Another Planet. "We are earthly 'Elvisians' who believe that Elvis Presley fans can be found in outer reaches of the solar system..." Yup.
