Cleaning Out Our Closets

April brings the urge to clean. Many of us do some spring cleaning at this time of the year. Well, there comes a time when we must clean out the closets of our life so that we may have room for items that will enhance our life. I invite you to join me in searching the closets of our lives and make a trip to the wastebasket.

Let's throw away any hatred that may be lurking there. Be sure to also toss out jealousy, bad attitudes, dishonesty, complaints, sin, and hypocrisy. Before we finish, let's throw away that grudge you have been holding.

Now, there's room now to add love, honesty, forgiveness and kindness-- not to mention thankfulness for all of God's blessings. Go on and make room for reverence and respect to God from whom all good and perfect gifts come. When we clean out all the negative things in our lives, and replace them with positive things, our lives become so much happier.

Take the time today to spring clean your heart. I guarantee you won't regret it.

God bless,
Emily

The pastor of the MCC Church, the Reverend Emily Bel, was featured in a recent Ledger-Enquirer article about the gays and the church. She did a fine job of presenting the case for a loving God in the article....
