Shoes


Shoes are another item which I haven't had much experience with yet. As I've been wandering around, I've been keeping my eyes peeled for the perfect spike heels to match the black cocktail dress I just bought. {Of course, I'll still have to learn to walk in them, which I'm sure won't be easy for a clumsy girl like me. *giggle*} I haven't found them yet, but I will keep looking until I do. If you have any great places to buy shoes at, I would love to hear from you. In the meantime, here are the places I've found



Over the Edge, Albuquerque, NM - In additional to gowns and dresses, they carry a small selection of used shoes in different sizes. They also carry a new, white shoe which they can dye any color you'd like.

The Crypt, Tucson, Arizona - {I do hope this is the right name. It's been a while since I've been to Tucson, and I can't remember for sure. If a girlfriend familiar with Tucson can let me know, I'd be ever so grateful} I haven't actually been in this place, but it was recommended to me by the salesgirl at Fascinations in Tucson {see lingerie section} as a good place to buy shoes. Additionally, I found a web page about it where the owner said that approximately 10% of her customers were men shopping for themselves and that she did her best to make them feel comfortable. I unfortunately did not bookmark the page, but once I find it again, I will post it on my links page. I believe this store also carries lingerie and other apparel.

Stomps and Threads, Albuquerque, NM -- I haven't actually gone shopping here, but...When I was last in Albuquerque, I spotted their ad on the back page of the weekly paper. I was particularly intrigued because the ad used the word "fetish". Unfortunately, I was not able to stop in before I left town and had been wondering. Just a few days ago, I ran across their web site and saw that they carried sexy high heels up to size 14. So, I sent them a fe-mail asking if they were a crossdresser friendly establishment. I got back a nice note saying " We have been dealing with cross dressers/performers since our business has been opened. We respect every person who steps foot in to our business." A great business philosophy. {and great merchandise too, judging by their web page. In addition to running a store, they also sell mail-order. If you are in the market for a new pair of spike heels, you might want to take a look. 

Payless Shoe Store Billie sent me a fe-mail saying the Payless Shoes in the Carolinas are great place to buy shoes. They have sizes up to 13's and low prices. Thanks Billie. For those of us in other parts of the country (or world, if Payless is outside the US) I'll bet they also carry large sizes.

Priscillas, Kansas City -- Becky left a note in my guestbook saying Shoes are one of my fetishes. I love high heels and platform heel shoes. If any of your readers are also fans, they need to get to "Priscillas" in Kansas City. They sell a large selection of sexy and exotic shoes that are medium to high quality and reasonably priced. Additionally, since they have a large selection, they often have sales on the shoes you might want. Lastly, the store is mostly an exotic clothing, adult toy store. So, most of their clientele are either too nervous to care what you're doing, or experienced enough to accept your taste. Also, there are about five different Priscillas stores in Kansas City. Smokin Lingerie, in the Phoenix area -- This is another shop that Cindy sent a fe-mail about. She says it is located on South Scottsdale Road, near Curry. They have a huge selection of high heels and boots, some of them in up to size 13. He is currently expanding, and will have catalogs for special ordering shoes, corsets, lingerie, etc. very friendly and helpful. Sounds perfect. Sexy shoes and lingerie all located in one store. If any of my girlfriends are in Arizona, you should stop reading this and go there now! Thanks, Cindy.

The Palace Shoe Store in the Cross County Mall in Yonkers, NY -- Annmarie sent a fe'mail about this show store.  She say they -- had up to 5" heels in size 11. The owner was very nice, but on a return trip, she wasn't as helpful...maybe not her day. Anyway, I have a pair of 4" and 5" heels from there. I haven't been back in awhile.  Thanks, Annmarie!  Please let us know how it goes on your next visit.

10 Plus Ladies Shoes, Sherman Oaks, California -- Natalie from this store sent me a fe'mail saying they specialize only in large sizes - from 10 - 15!  This might be especially interesting to you since men usually have large feet and it is quite hard to find women's shoes in large sizes.  Thanks, Natalie!  It sounds like a great store.  Friendly and with just the right size shoes!  I'll be sure to drop in the next time I'm in the area, and I'm sure all my girlfriends will too.  For my girlfriends who never get to Southern California, I've added a link to their web site on my links page.

Statuesque, Davie, FL -- Shana sent me a fe'mail about her shop.  She said We're a family owned business now in its tenth year.  We have no problem with male customers, as long as they are comfortable with the fact that most of our in-store retail shoppers are women.  We carry an array of contemporary, name-brand footwear styles exclusively in sizes 9 1/2 to 14, narrow to wide-wide widths. Brands include: Nickels, Moda Spana, Keds, Magdesians, Van Eli, Sacha London, Easentials and Coup D'Etat.  Thanks, Shana!  Sounds like a lovely store.  When I get to South Florida, I will positively stop in to buy some new heels.  I've also added their web site to the Links page.
