Network AIDS - Columbus, GA (24 hour hotline 706-660-1030);

Network AIDS - provides emergency financial assistance (rent, utilities, medication) as well as transportation for medical services (if necessary, will provide transportation out of town for services not provided in our local area). Also have a Speaker's Bureau - available free of charge - they will provide DHR certified HIV counselors for any group, at any time. All of their services are provided free of charge.

Currently, they have one salaried employee (our director). Funds for our director's salary are provided by the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation and a local benefactor. No donations to Network are applied to their director's salary. All donations made to their organization are specified in one of three areas (unless specific requests are made by the donor). These three areas are as follows: Client Care, Sidekicks and Education. Due to the generosity of their local benefactor, they have secured an office located on Lynwood Blvd. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES are donations made to Network deposited in general operating, office expense, or salary accounts.
Sidekicks - a Buddy program which matches a trained volunteer with a person living with AIDS or an HIV+ individual. The volunteer provides emotional, spiritual, physical, etc. assistance. Volunteer meetings - second and fourth Tuesdays of each month

The Ryan White foundation - has regular meeting if you would like to get involved in their organization please contact Heather Lungsfort at 321-6411.

Community Resources (Georgia)

Columbus Wellness Center - Outreach and Prevention Project - offers information for teens and parents on family planning, abstinence and HIV/AIDS; call 596-1171
